Description

Sennelier Artist Oil Sticks 38ml Size: Diameter 20mm, Length 130mm

With these oil bars for artists you can achieve a new approach to oil painting, enhance your freedom of expression and allow spontaneity.

Composition: Part of the oil has been replaced by a neutral mineral wax to give it the appearance of a stick. The colours are of an extra-fine quality: the pure pigments are ground with vegetable oils (siccatives), selected for their weak yellowing over time. The pigments chosen to make these oil bars are high in concentration and have excellent lightfastness.Solid extra-fine colours have opaque or transparent shades depending on the nature of the pigments used.

Supports: The oil sticks can be applied directly to a traditional surfaces for painting, universal acrylic primed or oil primed;.painting canvas, canvas board, prepared panels, paint paper.

Directions: The solid oil paint that is an oil stick should be applied in fairly thin film (do not exceed 1 mm). It is superimposable in the same way as the oil paint paste and it may, optionally, be diluted with petrol or turpentine. Before use, peel back the film on the surface of the oil stick. The latter will reform after a few days of non-use. Drying takes between 2 to 5 days, depending on the thickness of the layer and weather conditions. There is a colourless medium that allows to obtain transparency and glaze effects.

The product keeps very well over time and does not require any special precautions apart from the need to avoid a source of heat that could alter it. Final Treatment:

Once dry, the paint is varnished like a traditional oil painting after 6 months minimum drying, with a final varnish.
