Mastering Trees in oils or acrylics with David ‘DJ’ Johnson

All abilities welcome, including beginners
We will look at different ways to paint trees, branches and foliage – how colour and tonal values can help bring your trees to life. This workshop is suitable for both oils or acrylics, so bring whichever you prefer. We’ll explore a variety of ways to apply paint using brushes, sponges, palette knives and canvas wedges – to help recreate the marks and textures found in trees.
Artist David ‘DJ’ Johnson is well known for his stunning plein air paintings – he is an adventurer who likes to climb mountains and paint extraordinary landscapes. He is fascinated with skies, horizons, light and shadow. He will bring a selection of images with him, but if you have a particular tree you’d like to paint, bring a high-quality image with you.
DJ will take you step by step through various techniques, working from images he has selected, leaving you feeling inspired and uplifted! Return home with a finished (or almost finished) painting.

- Oil Paints:

About DJ
DJ has developed his style through many years working in professional fine art studios – designing and producing artwork for commercial spaces, public areas and private estates around the world. He paints every day and teaches on a regular basis – he has so much energy and enthusiasm! He was shortlisted for Artists & Illustrators Artist of the Year 2016, a finalist in International Artist magazine multiple times, 2109 Leamington Spa Biennial award winner, 2019 Highly Commended Patchings Artist of the Year, 2020 Wales Contemporary Art prize winner.
His workshops are great for building confidence, tackling unusual subjects and picking up techniques and tips.

Delivery is charged as priced on each order (International delivery exceptions apply).

If you are unavailable when our delivery partner tries to deliver your order, they will usually try to deliver again the next working day or they will drop a card in to offer you a collection from a local collection point. If you should refuse delivery of goods, or are not available to accept the delivery on both delivery attempts, you will be required to cover any extra costs incurred.

You have 28 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Your item must be in the original packaging.
Your item needs to have the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
Once we have received your item and inspected it we will contact you.
If your return is approved, we will initiate an immediate exchange or refund to your credit card (or original method of payment). You will receive the credit within a certain amount of days, depending on your card issuer's policies.
Shipping
Products returned by you because of a defect will be refunded in full, including a refund of the delivery charges for sending the item to you and the cost incurred by you in returning the item to us.
Products returned by you within the seven-day cooling-off period will be refunded in full, including the cost of sending the item to you. However, you will be responsible for the cost of returning the item to us.
